Raleigh Radiology is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior IT Clinical Analyst to serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and clinical radiology teams, ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of radiology-specific information systems and workflows. This role includes managing the configuration, integration, and maintenance of radiology IT systems such as PACS, RIS, and voice recognition solutions. The Senior IT Clinical Analyst also leads projects, trains staff and resolves complex technical issues to enhance radiology services and patient care.

  

Major Responsibilities

1. System Administration and Optimization:

  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and performance of radiology IT systems, including PACS, RIS, voice recognition software, and advanced imaging solutions.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to optimize system workflows and ensure alignment with clinical needs.
  • Implement upgrades, patches, and enhancements while minimizing disruptions to clinical operations.

2. Project Leadership:

  • Lead IT projects related to radiology, including system upgrades, new installations, and integrations with other healthcare IT systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, IT teams, and clinical stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, providing regular updates to leadership.

3. Clinical Support:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for radiology IT systems, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolving escalated technical issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for radiologists and clinical staff to maximize system utilization and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for radiology workflows, protocols, and system configurations.

4. Integration and Interoperability:

  • Ensure seamless integration of radiology systems with other hospital or clinic IT systems, such as EHRs and interface engines.
  • Work with the IT team to address interoperability challenges and streamline data exchange between systems.
  • Monitor and maintain interfaces to ensure accurate and timely transmission of imaging and clinical data.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures to improve radiology IT system performance and data integrity.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing policies for system use, data security, and patient confidentiality.

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Serve as the key point of contact between departments and IT, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Regularly meet with clinical teams to gather feedback, identify pain points, and implement solutions to enhance workflows.
  • Provide detailed reports to leadership on system performance, issues, and recommended improvements.
Requirements


• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiology IT systems, with advanced knowledge of PACS, RIS, and imaging modalities.

• Strong understanding of DICOM, HL7, and other healthcare IT standards.

• Proven experience with radiology workflow analysis and system optimization.


Preferred Certifications:

• CIIP (Certified Imaging Informatics Professional) or equivalent certification.

• Certifications related to specific radiology IT systems (e.g., Intelerad, Fuji, or Epic).


Skills and Competencies:

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong project management and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and technical teams.


Working Conditions:

This position may require onsite, remote or hybrid working hours. Flexibility to work on-call or after hours may be required for urgent issues or system updates. Some travel may be required between healthcare facilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
