Internal Manufacturing Indianapolis is a function within Roche Diagnostics - Near Patient Care Operations, responsible for the strip manufacturing of the majority of our blood glucose monitoring portfolio for the global demand of our patients.

Role Purpose

As Process Improvement Lead you will lead and facilitate continuous improvement programs within Internal Manufacturing - Indianapolis. This includes the training and coaching others on lean methodologies, as well as leading larger or more complex projects, as required.  You will be a member of the Technical Excellence Leadership Team and report to the Head of Technical Excellence.

The Opportunity:

  • Leads and Implements Improvements: Identifies and leads key product and process improvement projects aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Ensures Deliverables: Represents area needs and ensures necessary deliverables for new process and product developments are complete.

  • Provides Leadership on Projects: Leads large, complex, and possibly global process improvement projects, setting direction and approach.

  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Leads cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives, ensuring successful completion of deliverables through the team.

  • Change Advocate Using LEAN/Six Sigma: Serves as a leader and change advocate using LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies and other advanced manufacturing practices, modeling a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Coaches and Trains on Lean Methodologies: Coaches and teaches others on lean methodologies and techniques such as continuous improvement, value stream mapping/design, 5S, M4DI, DMAIC, PDCA, and Kaizen.

  • Continuous Improvement Strategy: Develops and drives continuous improvement strategy with the Operations Leadership Team, maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

Competencies:

  • Experience in collaborating and influencing leadership teams to develop strategy and implementation of strategy.

  • Proven skills in stakeholder management, and team management that are not direct reports.

  • Ability to effectively negotiate and influence others.

  • Mentors and coaches others within the organization on lean methodologies.

  • Influences organizational priorities with respect to improvement efforts and projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage conflict

  • Solid understanding of business needs and drivers.


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Sciences or closely related scientific/technical discipline.

  • Experience with process mapping, statistical and reporting tools

  • 5 years of experience in Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory or equivalent, incl
