Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, you’ll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as ​an Intern​ in the ​Global Technology​ Business Unit, will help us make the connections that move the world forward by: 

Be familiar with relevant aspects of materials and metallurgical engineering approaches.  

Be familiar with materials processing / characterization operations including physical testing, surface characterization and electrical characterization 

Be familiar with 3d printing/Additive manufacturing technologies 

Support evaluations of process capabilities and material properties 

Be able to maintain effective project documentation working with PowerPoint / Word/ Excel 

Contribute to ideation for development projects 

Responsibilities

Must have a good attitude and willingness to do more than asked and work collaboratively within a team environment.  

Must be willing to keep a clean and organized shop environment.  

Work Well with engineering staff. Be familiar with metal AM printing including material characterization and process development 

Be upper level Undergraduate or Graduate student in Materials Science/Engineering with hands on material testing experience. 

Have research experience applying engineering methodologies with working knowledge of 3D printing processes  

Mechanical engineering background or experience is a plus 

You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:

Have earned a high school diploma or GED 

•    Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a ​MA/MS​  or PhD Degree in ​Metallurgical Engineering​, ​Mechanical Engineering​ or ​Manufacturing Engineering​ from an accredited college or university—or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered). 

•    Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project 

•    Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation 

•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $20.20 – 43.52  (subject to change dependent on physical location) 

•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
