About the role

We're seeking someone to join our Corporate Trading team as a QA Automation engineer FIDCOM to Collaborate with a global team of developers, Strats and product owners to deliver comprehensive QA testing support, test planning and automated test execution for various applications. Work closely with Business, Strats and Development teams to gather and understand project requirements, ensuring efficient and effective software testing across all systems. Design and implement modular, reusable, and scalable test automation frameworks to enhance testing consistency and maintainability.

This is a QA II position at Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for devising test strategies, conducting and/or coordinating tests, and identifying defects to maintain high standards of performance and reliability.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Contribute to the function through a range of operational activities and project tasks, developing an understanding of the business and operating environment.

  • Understand RICE and Optimus application infrastructure/implementation and identify the solutions and changes needed for automation

  • Implement modularized, reusable and extensible test automation framework for the Genesis Credit applications using RICE frameworks and Optimus UI testing APIs

  • Develop and automate UI test cases for the Genesis Credit trading systems

  • Perform technical proof of concept activities for test automation using new tools available

  • Analyses existing test automation frameworks, perform code reviews for peer and propose suggestions for improvement

  • Collaborate with Dev team to understand how to test scenarios using the test automation frameworks developed

  • Understand the automation goals for the team and work closely with other automation team members in achieving them

  • Manage our Continuous Integration and delivery pipelines to maximize efficiency

  • Should be mindful of reuse, extensibility when developing new features, maintenance burden

  • Strong Initiative and the desire to experiment with new technologies but be pragmatic in implementation and weighing up options to come up with a plan to move forward

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Ability to engage with the broader team, communicate goals, tasks and deliverables in 1-1 and team meetings.A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proficient in at least one of programming/scripting languages - preferably Java or Scala

  • Extensive experience with the use of automation testing tools (e.g. Selenium/Winium) to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the software development process.

  • Experience with automating API is a plus

  • Strong Knowledge of CI/CD tools - GIT, Graddle/Mavin, Jenkins, JUNIT

  • Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices

  • Good Understanding of database and querying them

  • Experience working in global team setup, collaboration and mentoring

  • Strong Written and Oral communication skills

  • At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
