About the Role

The Manager of Statewide Services and Programs is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, community-based services for children, young people, and families across Tasmania. This includes oversight of key programs such as Intensive Family Engagement, Bringing Baby Home, Transition to Independence, After Care Support, Interstate Liaison, and Intensive Restoration. The role ensures evidence-informed practice through strong service management, professional supervision, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. It also drives strategic planning, operational excellence, and resource management, fostering a safe, inclusive workplace culture that upholds children’s rights and enhances service quality, safety, and effectiveness statewide.

Period of Appointment

Ongoing - ASAP start date

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent full-time or part-time vacancies in accordance with Employment Direction 1.

Hours per fortnight

76 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment)
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated allied health professions, eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1 Conviction checks in the following areas:

a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences

2 Identification check
3 Disciplinary actions in previous employment check

Desirable Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualifications in social work, psychology, human services or management
  • Significant experience in the delivery of human/family services and a high level of expertise in Child Safety
  • Current driver’s licence
