About the role

Description

We have a great job opportunity to work with The Office of the General Counsel (OGC), an independent legal agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), as a Paralegal to focus mainly on document review.


Responsibilities:

- Coordinate the acquisition and review of legal documents.

- Utilize eDiscovery platforms for efficient document management.

- Ensure compliance with document acquisition protocols and legal standards.

- Assist in conducting discovery, including the organization and review of relevant materials.

- Draft and file pleadings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal procedures.

- Provide support during trial preparations, including the preparation of exhibits and case-related materials.

- Review various legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

- Draft legal documents such as memoranda, briefs, regulations, and legislation under the guidance of legal professionals.

- Analyze legal issues relevant to cases, providing insights and recommendations.

- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of case-related legal matters.

- Plan and implement resources for efficient case management.

- Administer and oversee the execution of legal support services, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

- Provide specialized professional services in support of litigation, investigations, and case-related administration.

- Collaborate with legal professionals to address unique challenges and requirements.

- Manage contracts related to legal services and litigation support.

- Oversee project management aspects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field.

- Proven experience in legal services and litigation support.

- Familiarity with document acquisition, eDiscovery platforms, and legal document drafting.

- Prior involvement in pre-trial and trial support activities.

- Strong analytical skills for legal issue analysis.

- Proficient in drafting legal documents, memoranda, and briefs.

- Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to legal cases.

- Resource planning and implementation abilities.

- Contract and project management skills.

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
