As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will play an essential role in this mission and be a part of our growing organization. You will be responsible for protecting patients, visitors, caregivers, and hospital property by conducting regular patrols and enforcing facility policies. Not only will this role help you to enhance your skills, but it can also act as a steppingstone to other roles within security at Cleveland Clinic. 

 

A PRN caregiver in this position works 12-hour day or night shifts, including two weekends per month. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Patrol the internal/external premises while maintaining a high degree of courtesy and good judgment in dealing with the public. 

• Monitor visitor conduct, ascertain legitimacy of suspected unauthorized persons, control parking and traffic flows and enforce parking regulations. 

• Maintain high tact and diplomacy. 

• Demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse social, ethnic and religious groups. 

• Communicate with the public in a clear and concise manner. 

• Maintain a working knowledge of traffic, parking, regulations, policies and procedures. 

• Provide physical restraint against those who endanger caregivers, patients and visitors. 

• Provide escort to personnel as appropriate. 

• Unlock offices and facilities and secure patient valuables. 

• Apply restraining techniques, as required, to maintain safety and order within the hospital environment. 

• Report on safety, security and/or fire hazards.
