Specifically, we are looking for a TS/SCI cleared SATCOM Engineer - Senior to support this mission at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa.
Responsibilities:
As a SATCOM Engineer - Senior, you will provide technical and management leadership for all equipment and information support functions across the Task Order. Your responsibilities include:
- Serves as a lead technical expert in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced diagnostic capabilities and troubleshooting methodologies for C2ISR SATCOM network challenges.
- Leads complex end-to-end infrastructure testing and connectivity verification efforts for critical SATCOM links and integrated systems, providing expert analysis and problem resolution.
- Architects and deploys advanced technical diagnostic strategies to identify, analyze, and resolve systemic SATCOM network performance issues across global transport systems, ensuring continuous operational effectiveness.
- Develops and implements comprehensive proactive monitoring and predictive troubleshooting methodologies for entire SATCOM network environments, ensuring robust network stability and minimal communication disruptions.
- Is COOP trained and provides expert guidance and coordination for pushing out routing configurations and resolving complex issues with DISA OSC and Command SATOPS-ISR.
- Analyzes SATCOM network data and trends to identify vulnerabilities, propose architectural improvements, and develop proactive solutions for enhanced network resilience.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple high-impact SATCOM network assignments, guiding junior and journeyman Network Administrators/engineers, and shaping strategies for minimizing communication disruptions.
- Utilize the following TO Management & Financial Tracking Tools: Task Order portal; Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate); G Invoicing API; ASSIST portal integration; variance analysis dashboards; MS Project; Primavera; GFP management modules; WBS tracking systems; ServiceNow; Jira Service Desk; automated RIP/CTP/TAR workflows; SharePoint libraries; Confluence; Microsoft Search; lessons learned databases; video library repositories; Archer GRC; internal audit portals; Excel/SharePoint audit templates; CMDB with version control; Power BI with R/Python integration; Tableau; predictive analytics engines; Teams; Azure AD role based access; mobile access via Power Apps.
- Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: SATCOM monitoring tools (L3 Harris SRVT, Element Management Systems); RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes); network modeling and simulation software (OPNET, Riverbed Modeler, MATLAB); cabling and installation tools (fiber termination kits, copper testers); project documentation templates; Service Desk ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy); network diagramming software (Visio, Lucidchart); virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper V); backup and disaster recovery platforms (Veeam, Commvault); SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar).
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Previous experience as a SATCOM Engineer or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level;
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience with a BS/BA degree or 4 years’ experience with a MS/MA or 2 years’ experience with a PhD. 10 years' experience w/o degree or 8 years' with AS/AA
- A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level
- US citizenship is required
- DoD 8140 role for WRC: 441; Element: IT; Work Role: Network Operations Specialist; Proficiency Level: Intermediate / ability to obtain
Desired Qualifications:
- Must complete DoD-approved IA baseline certification for ADP-III/IT-III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment.
Work Environment:
- Location: Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa
- On-site expectations: Full-time on-site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking
