Position Summary:

The incumbent will serve as a Lead Engineer Mechanical for the Family Care Technology Development Team with focus on both Tissue Manufacturing and Converting technologies and assets. The individual will support projects in technology development as well as early capital estimates toward completion of Engineering Feasibility Studies (EFS). This role would also lead or support key mill trials toward equipment development as well as support asset conversions especially for First of A Kind (FOAK) conversions and startups. Other cross-functional partners would include Mill, Supply Chain and other R&D teams, as well as working close with TSPs and OEMs. This role will report to and receive work direction from an R&D Associate Director.  It starts with YOU.

In this role, you will:

  • Support R&D projects to deliver upon project goals. This role may support building project budgets, schedules and resourcing plans.
  • Communicates effectively and succinctly in many forms to key stake holders including R&D and cross-functional Leaders.
  • Drives a culture of documented and protected innovation utilizing patents and trade secrets.
  • Provide work direction, coaching and mentoring for select junior engineers for Family Care R&D.
  • Understand the innovation strategy and support the development and execution of projects focused on long-term competitive advantage forecasting business needs 2 to 5+ years out. 
  • Ensure all work complies with Corporate Safety, Regulatory and Quality requirements as well as our Company Code of Conduct.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field from an accredited college/university.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in production or R&D environments.   
  • Proven track record of effectively communicating to leaders and team members across all levels of the R&D.
  • Ability to track and communicate progress against multiple areas of work on-time or ahead of deadlines.
  • 10-25% travel with heavier times during in factory testing or machine conversions.
