Duties and responsibilities:

- Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as: Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, AASHTOWARE Bridge Rating (BrR) etc.
- Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
- Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
- Become familiar with various structural standards and building codes such as: AASHTO, VDOT, AREMA, and UPRR/BNSF guidelines
- Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
- Prepare cost estimates
- Prepare construction documents
- Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and all company disciplines
- Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- 0 to 2 years of experience
- EIT certification preferred
- Intern experience preferred
- Experience with VDOT projects desirable
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler desirable
- Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
Base salary range:
$38.07 to $46.53 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Virginia market.
