Job Description
The Manager, NBCU Local Credit and Collections is responsible for billing, credit and collections for a subset of NBCUniversal Local Ad Sales Receivables. The ideal candidate will embody the NBCUniversal values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, pioneering spirit and ownership. This individual should demonstrate strong initiative, ownership and accountability over scope of responsibility. They should confidently participate in team discussions, actively listen and provide insights and recommendations. This position will report to the Director of Finance, NBCU Local Credit and Collections- West Coast.
Responsibilities
- Perform credit evaluations on new customers.
- Support NBCU Local Sales and Finance organizations on credit and collections policies and procedures.
- Monitor existing customers’ adherence to payment terms and/or changes in financial stability and re-evaluate credit terms accordingly.
- Monitor, maintain and reconcile receivable portfolio to proactively increase cash flow and minimize company’s exposure to bad debt.
- Enforce payment terms and meet cash goals and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) targets.
- Facilitate the resolution of discrepancies with customer and NBCU Local Sales.
- Actively participate in Sales meetings to help drive receivable performance improvements across the business.
- Forecast cash receipts on a monthly basis.
- Authorize additions and changes to customer records in Wide Orbit Traffic and Wide Orbit Network.
- Collaborate with Sales and Traffic Departments to ensure accuracy of pre-billing data, reconcile billing reports to stations’ logs, generate billing interface to SAP A/R and support Finance with accurate revenue recognition.
- Coordinate with outside collection agencies.
- Various special projects and ad-hoc assignments.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Wide Orbit and SAP or demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems.
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting or Media preferred
- Prior credit and collections experience.
- Maintains a professional image and credibility with openness and candor.
- Ability to “think outside the box” and analyze scenarios from different perspectives.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external clients, including Sales, Finance, Senior Management and NBCU Local agencies and advertisers.
- Detail and process-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Motivated self-starter; ability to work independently and as member of a remote team.
- Willingness and ability to take proactive measures to generate results, drive change and improve processes.
- Fluent in Spanish language a plus.
