Telecommuting:          40% telecommuting allowed.

JOB DUTIES: Design and build data pipelines to support applications and data science projects following software engineering best practices.

  • Work with development teams, project leaders, and other stakeholders to provide technical solutions that enable business capabilities.

  • Design and develop data applications using big data technologies (Hadoop and AWS) to ingest, process, and analyze large disparate datasets.

  • Build robust data pipelines on Cloud using Airflow, Spark/EMR, Kinesis, Kafka, Lambda, DBT, Fivetran, and HVR.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.

  • Implement architectures to handle large-scale data and its organization.

  • Execute strategies that inform data design and architecture, partnering with enterprise standards.

  • Work across teams to deliver meaningful reference architectures that outline architecture principles and best practices for technology advancement.

  • 40% telecommuting allowed.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent)  in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in job offered or in data engineering role building scalable data pipelines of 40-50 Gigabytes (or a closely related occupation).

Alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in job offered or in a data engineering role building scalable data pipelines of 40-50 Gigabytes (or a closely related occupation). 

Special Skills: Applicants must possess demonstrated expertise with the following:

  • Creating and automating enterprise data pipelines and orchestration framework, using Spark and Lambda on Cloud, and on-premises deployment architectures.

  • Developing and setting tasks in Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs) and workflows using orchestration frameworks (Airflow or similar).

  • Using programming language (Python or Scala) to develop business functionalities according to requirements.

  • Writing programs, implementing architectures, and enabling automation in on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Using BI tools (Tableau and Power BI) for data analytics and reporting.

  • Working with CI/CD pipeline and code repositories (GitHub or Bit Bucket).

  • Performing data modeling, data warehousing, and big data architecture development using Hadoop, EMR, spark, Redshift, Fivetran, Snowflake, No-SQL, or similar large-scale distributed systems.

  • DevOps experience, including using Terraform for infrastructure as code, automating data pipeline deployments, and managing machine learning workflows to ensure scalable and efficient operations.


 

Pay Range:

$154,000 - $164,000 per year


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
