About the role

We are the Data Services team within Oracle Analytics Cloud and our mission is to innovate, build, and support data service management technologies and capabilities that enhance our diverse portfolio of products. We are building a new unified data product - Intelligent Data Lake from the ground up. This product aims to provide customers with a single pane of glass interface that offers a wide array of capabilities for data management and processing, including data science and analytics.


We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled software engineer to join our team, focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our data platform initiatives. You will be involved in architecture, design, development, and operations of the various aspects of the new service to ensure that our applications are deployed efficiently, securely, and at scale. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing our infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Your Responsibilities

As an integral part of the OAC development team you will be responsible for the following,

  • Help drive the next-generation Data Services, with a focus on micro services; using Oracle standard tools, technology and development practices
  • Drive complex areas and do a detailed design of some components.
  • Working directly with architects to ensure newer capabilities are built by applying right design principles
  • Working with remote and geographically distributed teams to enable building the right products, using the right building blocks and making them consumable by other products easily
  • Be very technically hands-on and own/drive key end-to-end product/services
  • Ready to learn and jump into new areas and domains.

Your Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent related fields
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure for cloud services
  • Strong proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as Java, Python or related technologies
  • Experience in scripting and automation using tools like Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools for managing distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.  
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Prometheus).
  • Strong Linux skills with hands-on experience in Oracle Linux/RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian distributions, including system administration, package management, shell scripting, and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
