Senior Water Operations Manager, AWS EMEA Energy & Water Team

About the role
The successful candidate will be the business owner for the operation and maintenance of the off-site water supply infrastructure and the discharge infrastructure. The role will include partnership and relationship management with 3rd parties, EUC and Town Halls relating to security of water supply and discharge conditions. Additional support to the on-site operations team is required on a SME techncial basis associated with legionella compliance, rainwater harvesting, onsite water recycling and treatment, reservoir management and O&M. Whilst the role is primarily supporting growth in Spain, you will inform and influence outside of this geographical region where required. <br/>You are a customer obsessed leader that will play an integral part in planning and implementation of the facility network infrastructure including new build handover documentation, infrastructure retrofits, and on-site Water positive program initiatives to reduce consumption. Partnering with internal customers and internal/external stakeholders to engage as a team and ensure a timely handover will be part of your critical tasks. The role will positively contribute to the implementation of safety procedures to safeguard operator safety (confidence spaces, chemical handling, water treatment plant safety systems and calibrations).<br/>The role requires a motivated, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems while striving for operational excellence. The role will continue to build upon existing processes to deliver improved business impact in terms of risk mitigation and reduced OPEX. The individual needs a strong willingness to develop learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities and with high ambiguity. The successful candidate will be part of the Water team but will strongly align with the Engineering and Facilities team, Critical Project Implementation and Field Engineering, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental teams across the EMEA region. Regional ownership and reporting to Cluster managers, alongside the Engineering Operations team whilst working together to improve water management for AWS. <br/><br/>AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)<br/>AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.<br/><br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>• You will lead the management in water in region building trust with regional partners on operational remote assets. <br/>• You will drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics <br/>• You will collaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers <br/>• You will be responsible for ensuring that the preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards, in accordance to AWS procedures <br/>• You will ensure organizational capability to react & respond appropriately to any potential customer-impacting event on any component of water infrastructure. <br/>• You will work with internal and external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of water improvement projects, and act as owner in delivering on project objectives and targets. Projects may span organizations or geographies in support of business objectives.<br/>• You will proactively engage stakeholder teams to identify optimization opportunities on water consumption or discharge requirements. Support REE deep dives on RCA of compliance failures and rectification works required for improvement.<br/>• You will promptly and accurately communicate project status, risk analysis and risk mitigation plans.
