What’s the role?

At Etsy we are looking to grow and expand our Tax team and are hiring a Senior Tax Accountant to join the team. You will be an integral member of the Etsy Tax Team and will have exposure to a wide variety of international taxes. The position requires an experienced tax professional capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic and fluid organization. You should be detail-oriented and approach work through the lens of constant improvement and increased efficiency. Additionally, you should be highly organized and a phenomenal teammate!

The results of your work will enable Etsy to meet its external tax reporting, direct and indirect tax obligations with integrity. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s new Dublin office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

• Assist with the preparation of corporate and indirect tax returns as well as supporting calculations, work-papers, filings and payments ensuring all external deadlines are met.

• Liaise and develop relationships with business, accounting and legal teams to obtain information and understanding about the business.

• Assist with providing support on the handling of day-to-day international tax queries.

• Assist with the management of tax audits as they arise.

• Drive the initiation and execution of special projects, lead process improvement initiatives, and champion automation efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

• You are passionate about Tax! You are a champion of processes and internal controls that will support a best-in-class Tax Team.

• Bachelor’s Degree, qualified AITI or equivalent, and ACCA/ACA or equivalent candidate is preferred.

• 3+ years experience with a background in public accounting and/or industry.

• Indirect tax experience is an advantage.

• Experience with automating processes is a plus.

• Ability to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
