About the role

The Role:

The Senior Specialist, Global Mobility, and Immigration, supports with the organization's global mobility function that encompasses the fields of relocation, immigration and tax, with full responsibility for coordinating specific aspects of these programs. This role emphasizes collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to facilitate seamless transitions for employees while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of global mobility practices, immigration laws, and a strong understanding of tax implications related to international assignments. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, providing support to assignees, and partnering with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth transitions for employees on international assignments.

Here's What You’ll Do:

Global Mobility Coordination:

  • Coordinate specific aspects of the global mobility process, focusing on international assignments, including long-term, short-term, and international permanent relocations.

  • Assist in maintaining global mobility policies, ensuring alignment with the company’s culture and talent strategy.

  • Collaborate with HRBPs, recruiters, payroll, tax, legal teams, and external vendors to ensure smooth execution of assigned relocations.

Immigration Support:

  • Assist in immigration processes, including reviewing visa applications for company and employee data and supporting employees with required documentation.

  • Work with external immigration service providers to ensure compliance with local immigration laws and timely document processing.

  • Provide employees and managers with guidance on immigration timelines and procedures.

People Support:

  • Act as a supportive resource for employees during relocations, addressing concerns to ensure a positive experience.

  • Coordinate with relocation providers to ensure relocation services such as housing, schooling, and other services, are in alignment with company standards.

  • Support the repatriation process in collaboration with relocation providers.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Support compliance efforts by maintaining accurate records and documentation for global mobility and immigration processes.

  • Assist in tracking visa expirations, work permit renewals, and changes in immigration laws.

Tax and Payroll Coordination:

  • Support tax planning and compliance efforts by liaising with tax advisors on specific cases.

  • Have a high-level understanding of the tax equalization process and gross-up calculations to assist with any employee or internal stakeholders’ questions.

  • Coordinate with payroll teams to ensure accurate processing of compensation, benefits, and allowances for assignees.

Policy and Process Improvement:

  • Assist in reviewing and refining mobility and immigration policies to reflect best practices and legal requirements.

  • Support process improvement initiatives related to global mobility and immigration.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Assist in preparing reports related to global mobility and immigration metrics, including data collection and analysis.

  • Provide data to support strategic decision-making and process improvements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Support internal stakeholders, including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Legal, and Finance, by providing relevant information and resources.

  • Participate in training sessions for HR teams and managers on global mobility and immigration topics.

Here's What You’ll Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.

  • A relevant certification in Global Mobility (e.g., GMS) or Immigration Law is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in global mobility, immigration, or international HR roles.

  • Experience supporting international assignments and immigration processes in a corporate setting.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with global mobility practices, immigration laws, and tax regulations.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to support collaboration across teams.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
