Your Role at Nutrient...

You'll be joining the Native team, which builds the core technology behind many of our key document capabilities. This team owns several of our SDKs (.NET SDK, Java SDK) which are standalone products that also serve as foundations for our Web SDK, Document Engine, AI Document Processor, and Document Web Services. The work you do here will have direct impact across our entire org.

As part of this team, your contributions will be central to strengthening the reliability and quality of our technology. We’re looking for a developer who takes pride in architecting high-performance solutions, enhancing system resilience, and crafting efficient logic to handle complex document processing at scale.

Because our SDKs go beyond rendering and into intelligent document understanding, we have a strong focus on Machine Vision and AI (particularly VLMs). If you're excited by challenges in rendering and machine learning content analysis, you'll find this work especially rewarding.

What You'll Work On...

• Designing and implementing high-performance C++ and C# systems.
• Optimizing local AI inference workloads.
• Contributing to architecture, tools, and services, supporting both product development and customer success.
• Collaborating closely with a small, remote-first engineering team to ship features, debug hard problems, and continuously improve reliability.
• Joining periodic in-person meetups to align and reflect as a team.

What You'll Bring...

• Strong General Programming Skills: You're well-versed in OOP, data structures, and algorithms, with an understanding that even client-side SDKs are part of a larger distributed system. You’re driven by a curiosity to understand how things work.
• Experience in system programming and optimization: You’re familiar with memory management, pointers, system calls, compiler quirks, multi-platforms, and language interop. You understand how GPUs work and how to optimize software to fully leverage hardware.
• Collaborative and Self-Managing: You don't need hand-holding and can build solutions from scratch. You thrive on exchanging ideas, both async and sync. You speak up when something is not right, provide honest feedback, and welcome it in return.
• Bias Toward Shipping: You move quickly and take ownership for solving problems from start to finish.
