Heraeus Quartz North America is seeking a Finance Intern to join our team in Buford, GA. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with financial analysis related to freight costs, inventory management, manufacturing and operational variances, and tariff impacts. This role offers hands-on experience in supply chain finance, cost analysis, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with logistics, procurement, operations, and accounting teams. 

 

Your Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Code, approve and analyze freight and tariff invoices 

  • Prepare tariff analysis and reporting 

  • Assist with inventory valuation and inventory reserve analysis 

  • Support monthly inventory reporting and inventory accuracy initiatives 

  • Help identify slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory trends 

  • Analyze purchase price variances, manufacturing variances, and operational cost variances 

  • Prepare variance reports for management review 

  • Support monthly close activities and reporting 

  • Utilize Excel and systems to analyze large datasets 

  

What is Required for this Role: 

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, and data analysis 

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills 

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams 

  • Experience with Power BI, SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
