Prep Cook

Job description:

In support of the extraordinary care services and luxury living amenities we provide for our residents at The Bristal, we are seeking a talented, creative and experienced Cook to work in the Food Services department of the very busy and fast-paced kitchen within our luxury assisted living community. Your contribution as a member of our valued Food Services team is essential to making life for our residents special and enjoyable each day.

Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Saturday 10:30am-7pm

Additional responsibilities include:

• Helping to prepare food for the next meal service, which includes chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients according to established recipes
• Ensuring all procedures are conducted following required health department and company regulations
• Checking all food temperatures prior to meal service
• Garnishing all plates before they leave the kitchen area
• Assisting with other kitchen functions as necessary, including dishwasher, utilities, line cook, prep cook

The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy kitchen or food preparation area and come with:

• Experience working in a restaurant, catering facility, hospital, hospitality, healthcare or similar food services related industry as a plus
• Must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to understand the English language and follow instructions with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to follow all rules, regulations, policies and sanitary standards established by management
