The role involves coordinating compliance deliverables with local service providers and ensuring the highest standards of financial accuracy and regulatory adherence.<br/></p> <p>Reporting Structure: The Senior Accountant for European Operations will operate under the direct supervision of the Finance Director based in Brazil. This structure ensures a cohesive financial strategy across our global operations. </p> <p>The successful candidate will maintain regular communication with the Finance Director, providing updates, insights, and reports to ensure alignment with the company's overarching financial goals and objectives. This close collaboration will be instrumental in driving the success of our European entities while maintaining a unified financial vision.</p> <p><strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>Main responsibilities:</strong></strong></p><p></p> <ul><li>End-to-End Accounting: Oversee the entire accounting process, from general ledger activities to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close for a group of in-sourced legal entities.</li><li>Journal Management: Handle the posting of G/L and transactional journals, ensuring seamless data transfer from relevant systems, notably SAP Business One.</li><li>Compliance Coordination: Collaborate with local service providers to ensure compliance in areas such as Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and payroll.</li><li>Regulatory Filings: Prepare and submit VAT returns and other necessary regulatory filings.</li><li>Team Collaboration: Engage with the accounting team in Brazil to ensure cohesive financial operations.</li><li>Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, accounting, and financial reconciliations.</li><li>Banking: Manage bank approvals in accordance with the documentation provided by the financial team in Brazil.</li><li>Annual Reporting: Contribute to the preparation and filing of annual consolidated financial statements and the creation of statutory financial accounts.</li><li>Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as required to support the financial health and transparency of the organization.</li></ul> <p><strong></strong></p><p><strong><strong>A perfect match would have:</strong></strong></p><p></p> <ul><li>Proven professional accounting certification (AA-accountant).</li><li>Previous experience in the car rental marketplace or Brazilian entities is considered a plus.</li><li>Profound technical accounting knowledge, especially in local GAAP (UK, German, Dutch, or other European standards).</li><li>Proven experience with VAT returns and regulatory filings.</li><li>Familiarity with IFRS.</li><li>Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel. </li><li>Experience with ERP, particularly SAP Business One, is an advantage.</li><li><strong>Proficiency in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.</strong></li><li><strong>Availability to work in a remote model based in </strong><strong>Amsterdam/NL.</strong></li></ul> <p>Take the next step now and join us in creating a positive impact!
