KLAS 8 News Now is Las Vegas, NV is now accepting applications for Internships with our Live Lifestyle Show, Las Vegas NOW.  Internships are available for qualified students studying journalism, video production, and other communication degrees.  The lifestyle show features food, music, events, other entertainment and more!  The right candidate will be outgoing, organized, friendly, and interested in having hands-on experience with a live television show. 

Internships offer meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern.  The education received by the Intern from the internship is for express benefit of the Intern.  The Intern does not replace or displace any employee of the Company.  The Intern will receive direct and close supervision by an appropriate supervisor.  This is a paid internship with an expected duration of one year.  The Internship is related to an educational purpose and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with the Company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn
• Possess strong communication skills

• Assist with writing and producing live show
• Assist with greeting studio guests for Las Vegas Now
• Assist in staging and managing segments for live show
• Involvement in all daily show procedures, assisting LVN team in all stages of production
• Work closely with producers, editors, and graphics team to check video and prepare graphics
• Some knowledge of ENPS
• Some knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Some knowledge of working with social media
• Previous internship experience a plus 

Qualifications: 

• This internship is open only to seniors at an accredited university
• Must be able to commit to 20-25 hours a week, the internship will last for a maximum of 1 Year
• Interns are required to work a specified schedule
• Must have reliable transportation to our station
• Abide by all safety rules and procedures of Company.
• Exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of Company
• Maintain strictly the confidences of Company, the customers of Company, all information or data received regarding Company and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the Student

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The Intern must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups.  In addition, the Intern must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Repetitive movements are required.  Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
