This is a contract-funded position with an end date of 8/31/2025. Depending on funding and need, we expect an opportunity for project extension.

Purpose

This position requires a highly collaborative and motivated individual to support several current and future projects that advance mental health system innovation throughout Central Texas. The Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences leads several initiatives focused on redesigning the mental health system. This role will oversee the day-to-day operational components of the Department’s community-based and county partnership endeavors and the operational components of the Amplify Center, the department’s clinics for adolescents and young adults who are showing early signs of serious mental illness. Supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Director of the Amplify Center, Assistant Director of Community Integration Strategy, and Amplify Clinical Program Manager to oversee the operational components of the Amplify Clinic:
  •    Interface with UTHA Clinical Applications, Revenue Cycle and Legal Teams as electronic health records and service delivery needs arise. 
  •    Ensure coordination across clinical and research initiatives. 
  •    Monitor clinic budgets.
  •    Work with finance team to monitor profit and loss targets  
  •    Participate in grant and report writing.
  •    Support the Clinical Program Manager to implement efficient and effective clinical services. 
  •    Support front desk staff to ensure insurance information is properly documented and benefits discussed with clients. 
  •    Train staff as needed.
  •    Support the development and document policies and procedures with CYMH and Amplify leadership team.

• Support the Associate Chair of Community Psychiatry and the Assistant Director of Community Integration Strategy:
  •    Manage sensitive initiatives and contract deliverables 
  •    Work with government and executive stakeholders. 
  •    Provide operational project management over county and state-funded community psychiatry and public mental health initiatives
  •    Ensure contract deliverables are met and reporting requirements are sent to funding agencies, stakeholders, and medical school leadership.
  •    Execute communications and media contract deliverables per community psychiatry initiatives.
  •    Support the Assistant Director of Community Integration Strategy in operationalizing strategy components in current and future community psychiatry initiatives.
  •    Support the funding and build-out of community psychiatry initiatives with the community psychiatry leadership team

• Provide grant-specific oversight to the Assistant Director, Clinical Services, and Contracts to ensure a consistent understanding of project scope, background, and future direction while executing public service contracts.

• Participate in research and knowledge dissemination efforts. Develop presentations, papers, reports, and other outputs to synthesize and summarize issues and results for various audiences. Present findings at professional conferences, training, and other events.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field (public health, social work, nursing, etc.) and at least 5 years experience in health-related organization. Experience engaging with community stakeholders. Demonstrated project management skills and success in managing multiple projects. Must be self-directed and able to work independently. Must be versatile in Microsoft Office suite applications.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field (public health, social work, nursing, etc.) and at least 10 years of experience in health-related organizations. Experienced mental health clinician focusing on public systems or underserved populations. Demonstrated success in complicated and complex organizations with multiple stakeholders. Ability to exercise resourcefulness and good judgment. Ability to manage multiple streams of work. Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
