Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Part-Time Cook to join our cafeteria team.

Responsibilities

The position of cook provides for the preparation and distribution of food to patients, visitors and staff of Shriners Hospitals.

This is a Part-Time position of approximately 24 hours per week, with more hours available based on departmental needs. 

Both M-F and Weekend availability desired. 

 

Practices Serve Safe Sanitation

• Sanitation according to the guidelines of Serve Safe is practiced at all times.

Prepares Catering Functions and consistently maintains quality

• Catering functions are prepared on time and to what the customer has ordered

Prepares patient meals in accordance with specific diets and is prepared at meal time

• Patient meals are made according to their diet and are ready on time for tray line.

Ensures proper temp of all food served in accordance with state and federal guidelines

• The temp of our food is at acceptable level according to or policy and procedure manual

• Tally sheets are followed so that extra food is not left over after tray line.

Prepare cafeteria meals according to specific menu

• Cafeteria males are done on time. There is sufficient backup so that the café does not run out of food.

Qualifications

Certification and LicensuresServSafe Food Safety Certificate Required

 

Experience

2 Years Institutional Cooking.

Hospital cooking experience highly preferred.
