About the role

The CDL Class A Driver and Laborer is responsible for transporting oversized marine structures and supporting dock and pier construction projects. Duties include hauling and securing loads, performing vehicle inspections, and maintaining delivery logs. This role involves assisting with construction tasks, operating tools and equipment, loading materials, and working on or near water. This position requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.


What you'll do

  • Transport oversized loads such as barges and pre-manufactured piers, ensuring all loads are secure and meet DOT and safety regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of hauling equipment and maintain accurate delivery logs.
  • Assist in the construction, maintenance, and dismantling of docks, piers, and other marine structures.
  • Load, unload, and distribute materials and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Operate and maintain hand and power tools, small boats, and assist in barge operations.
  • Set up and remove scaffolding and temporary structures; clean and prepare job sites, including debris removal.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper protective equipment in water-based and construction environments.
  • Communicate with dispatch, management, and team members to ensure timely, efficient, and safe project execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, both on land and water.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Previous experience in a marine or construction environment is highly advantageous.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience with heavy-duty equipment and large load transportation.
  • Must have experience hauling trailers with oversized loads.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, basic carpentry, and machinery.
  • Must be able to lift 100lbs.
