Senior Direct Tax Manager

Fastly is looking for an experienced tax professional to lead global direct taxes.  The Senior Manager, Direct Tax will be responsible for compliance, audits, and planning for US income, franchise, and gross receipts taxes and non-US income taxes.  The Senior Manager, Direct Tax will also be heavily involved with the preparation of Fastly’s tax provision. This role reports to the Senior Director, Tax.  

What You'll Do:

• Manage the tax provision and direct tax compliance processes, including coordination with outsourced service providers
• Review transfer pricing calculations and manage transfer pricing compliance
• Prepare/review direct tax accruals, payments, and account reconciliations
• Identify direct tax exposure and risk areas and implement strategies to mitigate
• Manage direct tax audits including responding to audit queries and information requests
• Identify and implement direct tax process improvements
• Develop, implement, and document direct tax internal controls 
• Respond to internal and external customer questions about direct taxes
• Partner with the business teams to advise on the direct tax implications of their activities
• Monitor direct tax legislation, communicate the impact, and implement operational and compliances changes as required
• Perform direct tax due diligence and integration analysis for mergers and acquisitions
• Assist with other tax projects, as needed 

What We're Looking For: 

• 12+ years of experience with tax provision and direct tax compliance and audits
• Advanced degree in taxation and / or accounting is preferred
• Excellent project management and organization skills
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability
• Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
• Experience working with tax provision and direct taxes in a technology company is preferred

Work Hours:

This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $113,220 to $166,500.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
