Position Summary:

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense, Inc., maintains contractual relationships with many U.S. government agencies on complex programs and projects that require the participation of sub-contracting suppliers of systems, components, and parts. Fulfillment of contracts is very dependent upon the performance of sub-contractors in delivering quality products on time. The team of Supply Chain Managers supports the management of performance of subcontracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures including import/export regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing all phases of procurement process from sourcing to ordering.
  • Maintains familiarity with assigned contracts and assists suppliers in complying with all contract terms.
  • Evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
  • Forecasts, reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.
  • Supports review of quotes and proposals for accuracy, compliance and price/cost reasonableness
  • Supports negotiation of subcontracts and other supplier agreements, including negotiating cost and other terms and conditions.
  • Leads in all supplier qualification efforts, including development and maintenance of supplier network.
  • Develops and maintains an efficient supply chain capable to deliver goods/work-packages (services), matching AIRBUS U.S. requirements and business objectives
  • Executes teaming agreements and non-disclosure agreements, which may include several parties.
  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
  • Supports contracting process by providing subcontractor pricing, deviations from scope and/or terms and conditions, comprehensive cost analysis and justifications, and technical data assertions as needed.
  • Leads the review of quotes and proposals for accuracy, compliance and price/cost reasonableness
  • Leads negotiation of subcontracts and other supplier agreements, including negotiating cost and other terms and conditions.
  • Identifies supplier risks and propose mitigation actions, Help managing the development of the suppliers when necessary.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:

Education:

  • Required: BS degree in Business or Finance required
  • Preferred: Master's degree in US Government Procurement preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of general experience in contracting, procurement, and supply chain management
  • Minimum 3 years of U.S. Government procurement, contracts, subcontracts, or similar

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
  • Must be proficient (or able to achieve proficiency) in skills necessary to perform duties.
