Position Overview

The Stationary Engineer Chief position manages and coordinates all phases of the physical operations at Vienna Correctional Center. This individual serves as full line supervisor, advises administration of repairs, new construction and large equipment purchases, and prepares a variety of reports and requisitions. In addition, this individual will plan and direct vocational training for individuals in custody assigned to the Maintenance Department. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, task oriented, and organized. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.  

Essential Functions

• Manages and coordinates all phases of the physical operations at Vienna Correctional Center including emergency maintenance, security maintenance, preventative maintenance, and utility distribution systems.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Advises administration on need and feasibility of major repairs, new construction, and large equipment purchases.
• Prepares maintenance cost reports, requisitions, personnel reports, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
• Plans and directs vocational training for individuals in custody assigned to the Maintenance Department in conjunction with respective supervisors.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
• Requires seven (7) years of experience in the operation of a commercial or institutional power plant or as a skilled craftsman in the mechanica
