URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a talented Grocery/Retail Meat Counselor/Merchandiser to join our ever-growing team. If you have grocery retail meat management experience and, have a friendly, energetic personality, and are passionate about working with Independent Member-Owner stores to help grow their business, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing the weekly meat ads for Family Foods and CenterPlace Market stores by deciding meat selection and pricing.
• Develop, coordinate, and conduct trainings to store’s meat department operations on: gross margin, product knowledge, controlling expenses, cost equal, and meat incentives to increase profitability.
• Drive sales and profits through innovative merchandising, industry knowledge, and technical expertise.
• Regularly meet with vendors to ensure best pricing possible.
• Make regular store calls on existing ad group stores.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining a positive and courteous relationship with all retailers and vendors.
• Maintain required paperwork and reporting.
• Remain current on market and industry conditions, trends and review all USDA rules and regulations.
• Work with stores on sanitation, quality and quantity of perishable cases.
• Utilize market data (rankings, sales trends, etc) to improve new product placement.
• Frequent Travel is involved – Approx. 12-15 nights per month. (All Travel Expenses Covered).
• This position will be responsible for a Territory of our Independent Retail Grocers and have NO direct reports.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3-years of retail meat management and meat sales experience related to retail grocery operations.
• Meat cutting and retail merchandising skills.
• Meat Industry knowledge, including market trends and USDA regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Superior time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understand and use basic math skills including percentages.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
