About the role
About the Working Families Party
The Working Families Party (WFP) is the progressive party for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that works for the many, not the few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.
We believe that no matter where we come from or what our color, most of us want the same things. We want to earn enough to thrive, not just survive, and leave a better future for our kids. We want healthy food and clean water, safe neighborhoods and a safe world. We want to be free.
The Working Families Party is regular people coming together across our differences to make a better future for us all. We’re a multiracial party that fights for workers over bosses and people over the powerful. We want an America which realizes the promise – unrealized in our history – of freedom and equality for all.
The Working Families Party (WFP) and Working Families Power is seeking a Director of Safety & Security to lead and strengthen organizational safety and defense during a pivotal period for our movement. As we head toward the 2026 general election, an era marked by escalating threats to progressive organizations, this role is essential to protecting our people, our digital and physical infrastructure, our partners, and our work. This role requires the ability to navigate risks from both external actors (e.g., harassment, doxing, digital targeting) and internal vulnerabilities related to remote work systems and compliance. A successful candidate will be a problem-solver, project manager, and highly relational leader with experience in politics and organizing. The Director of Safety & Security will work closely with Division Directors, Operations, Data, state based organizers, attorneys, consultants, and external partners. You will lead our Security Working Group, steward organization-wide readiness, respond to emerging threats, and increase WFP’s resilience through collaborative, people-centered approaches to safety. This role is ideal for someone who brings professional expertise in security alongside a deep commitment to the movements for liberation that WFP is a part of.
