The Office of Global Outreach and Extended Education (GOEE) develops innovative professional education programs that extend the impact of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering beyond traditional degree programs. Working with faculty, industry, government, and academic partners, GOEE designs and delivers workforce development, executive education, corporate training, and lifelong learning programs that help individuals and organizations build practical skills for today's rapidly evolving workforce in areas such as semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, engineering leadership, sustainability, and other emerging technologies.
The Program Manager, Workforce Development plays a key role in developing, launching, and supporting this portfolio of programs by working closely with faculty, instructional designers, domestic and international industry and government stakeholders, to identify new opportunities, shape educational offerings, develop proposals and budgets, coordinate workforce programs related to grant- and partner-funded initiatives, and guide programs from early concept through launch, delivery, and continuous improvement. The role blends workforce development, program development, curriculum planning, operational coordination, and program management to create high-quality learning experiences that respond to evolving workforce needs.

Success in this role comes from connecting people, ideas, and resources across the entire program lifecycle. The Program Manager, Workforce Development works alongside faculty and instructional designers to translate workforce and partner needs into engaging educational experiences by organizing curriculum, identifying opportunities to leverage existing content, surfacing instructional gaps, and coordinating development across multiple stakeholders. The role advances the operational success of the portfolio by coordinating budgets, timelines, faculty agreements, marketing readiness, learning platforms, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts. The Program Manager, Workforce Development also provides leadership and supervision for program support staff, fostering a collaborative, customer-focused team environment while ensuring efficient execution of program operations. The ideal candidate enjoys building innovative programs, collaborating across disciplines and cultures, improving processes, and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Salary Range: $57,900.00 - $78,500 per year; DOE
Essential Duties:
Program Development & Management
Support the development and continuous improvement of professional education and workforce development programs aligned with industry needs and organizational priorities.
Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and internal and external partners to develop engaging learning experiences, including curriculum planning, proposal development, budgeting, and program design.
Collaborate with Product Manager to validate market research, identify new program opportunities, and contribute to grant-funded initiatives and strategic workforce development efforts.
Develop project plans and coordinate activities to move programs from concept through launch while balancing timelines, resources, and stakeholder needs.
Program Operations & Portfolio Support
Coordinate the successful delivery and ongoing management of assigned programs by overseeing operational planning, faculty and partner communications, learner experience, and launch readiness.
Maintain program budgets, documentation, reporting, and operational tracking tools while monitoring progress and supporting continuous improvement.
Collaborate across GOEE and the university to ensure programs are delivered efficiently and consistently, identifying opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and enhance the overall learner, faculty, and partner experience.
