<p><strong>We are looking for a VP of Engineering to join our early-stage FinTech!</strong></p><p>At Paytrix, our mission is to redefine global payments for online businesses, helping them to thrive in the digital economy. Based in Poland and reporting to the CTO, this is a key senior leadership position accountable for the product delivery, quality and performance.</p>Who we are <p>We are building the world’s first regulated payments curation layer. By consolidating best in class payments infrastructure under our ecosystem, we will enable marketplaces and eCommerce brands to scale their payments operations smoothly around the world.</p><p>We’ve just raised one of the largest pre-seed rounds in UK history from some of the world's leading FinTech focused Venture Capital firms (including the backers of Flywire, Pipe, GoCardless, Tide, Pave, and Stitch), and are supported by several well-known industry angel investors that have built multi-billion dollar businesses globally.</p><p>We are building a workplace that encourages growth, development, and fun. Or are you going to seize on the opportunity to help drive it?</p><p><strong>The challenge</strong></p><p>At the intersection of fiat, crypto, Decentralised Finance (DeFi), non-traditional forms of transfer of value, and Government regulations exists a very difficult problem to solve: How to make it all work -at a global scale-, in a seamless, safe, legal, fair and private way? That’s what Paytrix has set out to address through a combination of global partnerships with tier one organisations, streamlined commercial and legal agreements, and truly progressive technology.</p><p><strong>The role</strong></p><p>Managing Frontend and Backend development squads located in Poland, Portugal and the UK, the VP of Engineering will be responsible for</p><ul> <li>Building and growing a high-performing technology organisation</li> <li>Proactively managing and mitigating product and delivery risks</li> <li>Recruiting, and organising activities that promote and increase retention</li> <li>Continually fine-tuning the software process to deliver a sustainable and seamless flow of value</li> <li>Creating an environment of psychological safety, enabling team members to thrive. This is very important to us, as we are a highly diverse group made up of people from many different ethnicities, religious beliefs and gender identities.</li> </ul><p>Although this is primarily a leadership role, you continue to be technology focused and are an intellectually curious person who still remembers what it is like to write software.</p><p>Our SDLC is highly automated and deploying to K8S with ArgoCD on AWS, but we remain somewhat cloud agnostic as we are pursuing a multi-cloud strategy. The backend logic is predominantly developed in Java and the frontend in JavaScript (Next.js)</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>To be successful in this role, you:</p><ul> <li>Have 10+ years of Engineering leadership experience, ideally in a Financial Services technology company and have overseen teams of 100+ people</li> <li>Are comfortable operating within the Servant Leadership model</li> <li>Know how to align software engineering within a product-driven environment through cross-functional engineering teams.</li> <li>Communicate effectively, timely and proactively with stakeholders</li> <li>Have experience with modern, large-scale distributed systems using AWS cloud native architectures</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>As part of this role you will receive the following:</p><ul> <li>Performance based bonus </li> <li>You will enjoy 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) </li> <li>Healthcare</li> <li>Matching Pension </li> <li>Company Options Scheme</li> </ul><ul><li>We recognise that starting a new job can be intense.
