SUMMARY

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning, open to mentoring by top professionals, coaching, customer service, and developing problem solving skills. The role requires organization, time management, and communication skills.

The 2026 Summer Internship program will be onsite at Axiom Space in Houston, Texas from June 1 to August 21. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations as no relocation or housing assistance will be provided.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track material status, production progress, and assist in resolving basic scheduling issues.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret hardware data to forecast baseline hardware inventory requirements for flight, training, and ground support hardware and implement plans for procurement and/or production.

  • Monitor the hardware production schedule, ensuring all commitments are met while identifying and proactively mitigating risks to ground and flight support schedules.

  • Monitor testing, training and flight event support schedule to ensure hardware is prepared and available to support all events.

  • Support hardware supportability analysis for event support utilizing predictive analysis tools for prompt responses to customer support requests.

  • Track work authorization packages in support of manufacturing, processing, and testing activities to ensure timely delivery and work order closure by maintaining accountability logs, records, and indices as required.

  • Support cross-functional collaboration across the organization to promptly investigate and resolve matters related to manufacturing and/or processing issues to mitigate schedule impacts.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, develop, and document processes, and workflows and refine established processes for cost-effective and efficient hardware management practices from initial production to long-term sustainment.

  • Assist with creating and maintaining hardware production schedules, work orders, and bills of material (BOMs) in ERP/MES/MRP systems, ensuring configuration integrity and on-time deliveries.

  • Analyze production data to optimize lead times, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with configuration management and documentation requirements.

  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Rising Junior or Senior or Advanced Degree (MS/MA or Ph.D.) in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field

  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher 

  • Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, inventory management fields preferred

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (data analysis, predictive analytics, automation, data visualization, pivot table creation, dashboards, etc.) highly desired

  • Experience utilizing Siemens Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) systems desired
