Position Summary:

The Manager, Incentive & Commissions plays a critical role at CommerceHub to ensure alignment with the GTM Strategy and growth targets. The Manager, Incentive & Commissions will report to the Director of Sales Operations. They will be responsible to drive and oversee activities needed for the development, implementation, communication and administration of sales and customer facing roles, commission or incentive programs, plans, policies, and quotas. They will manage the calculation of commission/incentive award payments based on commission plan provisions. The Global Compensation leader will analyze sales performance and trends, prepare reports, presentations and recommendations for sales, customer facing teams and/or finance management. They will participate in strategic and annual planning.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and provide leadership for the various initiatives that are part of the annual global sales compensation planning process which includes modeling, research, analysis, document development, system setup, testing and the collection and organization of information
  • Manage the calculation, administration, and submission of monthly and quarterly commission payouts within specified deadlines for all customer-facing teams with commission plans. Ensure that payments are accurate and on time.
  • Conduct and communicate analysis of sales trends and performance; provide reports, presentations, and recommendations for sales or other customer-facing teams, and/or finance management
  • Engage with leaders across the organization to ensure alignment of compensation design with sales strategies
  • Partner with leadership to direct creation of new plans, SPIFS, bonuses, and changes in plan components
  • Generate and communicate modeling of compensation elements to determine impact and provide recommendations
  • Serve as subject matter expert for all sales compensation operations, planning and policies: work closely with Legal and HR to support acquisitions, ensure compliance with local labor laws, and respond to litigation inquiries
  • Lead the activities needed for the development, implementation, communication, and administering of sales commissions and incentive programs, plans, policies, and quotas

 

Requirements:

  • 5 + years professional experience in Sales Compensation roles. Coaching/mentoring experience a plus
  • Strong experience with Salesforce.com and expertise with at least one commission system, preferably CaptivateIQ
  • Advanced knowledge of compensation practices and theory, primarily in sales compensation
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze data, create, and track metrics, and to present effectively to senior management
  • Strong capability to provide reports and executive presentations
  • Creative problem-solving and ability to innovate
  • Strong collaboration with Payroll, Finance, IT and Sales organizations
  • Exceptional, clear/concise written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate and communicate complex information in simplified terms
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
