Independent Living Specialist/Activities Specialist - Clyde Burton House

UTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  Plan and lead recreational activities and life skill groups. Manage caseload, including individual counseling, provision of concrete services, chart documentation. Act as liaison with referral sources and community partners. Make regular visits to client apartments. Monitor clients to ensure a safe and secure environment. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned.    HOURS:  Full time 37.5 hours per week 

• Tuesday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, Saturday 8am-4:30pm 

  QUALIFICATIONS:  BA and two years experience working with the homeless, mentally ill and/or elderly required. Masters degree and NYS Driver’s license preferred. Bilingual in Spanish a plus! Basic computer literacy required. Familiarity with Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing preferred. Ongoing regular participation in BRC training courses. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
