Role Description:

The Analyst, Facilities Data & Asset Management, is responsible for developing and coordinating the Department of Facilities Asset Management Plan by analyzing work order and asset performance data to provide input into the overall asset management program with respect to maintenance, capital, and operational decisions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains database of Facilities assets collecting, gathering, and compiling data on various assets using DC Water’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) system.

  • Utilize data analytics to evaluate processes, identify requirements, and provide data-driven reports and suggestions to executives and stakeholders.

  • Identify inefficiencies in workflows or systems and propose solutions to optimize business processes.

  • Collaborate with facilities, finance, and operations teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with facilities, procurement, and finance teams to support asset planning and capital investment strategies.

  • Prepares financial, operational, maintenance and other technical reports utilizing computerized inventory and asset registry to include calculations of net present value and life cycle costs.

  • Tracks the effectiveness of asset management strategies in improving cost and service level performance.

  • Validates failure criteria based on new input regarding levels of service or budget and validates the shape factor curves for probability of failure.

  • Reviews/revises maintenance strategies and facilitates the validation of existing and/or the development of new asset replacement costs and/or revise replacement costs, as necessary.

  • Participates in determining optimal renewal/rehabilitation/replacement cycles and budgetary requirements based on results from the asset management model output.

  • Facilitates the review of “at risk” assets and identifies which assets require immediate attention for risk reduction, which should be monitored, and which should be run-to-failure.

  • Identifies risk reduction strategies and/or projects.

  • Initiates the approval process for the Facilities asset management plan.

  • Coordinates with staff responsible for asset information and standards management to undertake quality assessment on asset management data and information and determines and coordinates changes to asset technical standards.
