About the role

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Clinical Systems Analyst is responsible for the specification, selection, implementation and management of clinical information systems. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, Trust).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares policies and procedures related to use of information technology in clinical areas.
  2. Performs administrative and management functions of clinical information systems, including security features.
  3. Researches and solves information system problems, including problems from non-clinical areas.
  4. Educates clinical staff on uses of information technology.
  5. Trains clinical users and Information Services staff users on functions of clinical information systems.
  6. Assists in the evaluation of information technology for use in clinical areas.
  7. Educates Information Services staff on clinical procedures and policies.
  8. Prepares specifications for clinical information systems.
  9. Guides the selection and implementation of clinical information systems.
  10. Oversees routine upgrades of clinical systems.
  11. Prepares or provides accurate documentation of changes made to systems managed by the Clinical Systems Analyst; coordinates documentation of changes made to other clinical systems.
  12. Participates in IS Department on-call rotation.
  13. Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.

  18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Works in an information services environment. Must be able to work with interruptions. The task of this job does not involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.

 

CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:

Contact with all Associates throughout the Organization, computer and software vendors.

 

EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Knowledge of clinical information systems. Good verbal communication skills, analytical skills, required. Works well in stressful environment.

Qualifications

 Five (5) years clinical experience in healthcare industry preferred.
