Production Relief Operator/Team Lead

Description

We are looking for a talented leader of people and processes to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN who can coach and mentor a team of molding associates in the areas of production, scheduling, safety, maintenance and quality. In this role you will be the driving force on the production floor (think Quarterback of a football team) to inspire and train associates to follow standard operating procedures, implementing continuous improvements to realize efficiencies and ensure we meet sales demand with high quality products and on time delivery. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include the following:

• Perform problem-solving activities to develop corrective actions for customer issues &/or initiate continuous improvement
• Evaluate each station of the production process to maintain optimum efficiency
• Create and oversee employee training to increase production, enhance safe operations and ensure profitability with a positive demeanor; Provide feedback and updates on staffing changes, issues and development of team members
• Ensure machine uptime and reliability through other team members by coordinating tooling changes and equipment availability
• Coordinate with the production control department and the production scheduler to ensure production schedule meets sales demand through appropriate levels of staffing; Execute the Mold change schedule including ensuring materials and molds are staged at the machines for the upcoming mold sets to reduce equipment downtime and improving setup time
• Ensure 5S standards are met and maintain safe work environment in all areas

Requirements

• 3 years of work experience in manufacturing setting.
• 5 years in a supervisor/manager capacity, leading cross functional teams, resolving conflict and building trust and relationships
• 3 years of injection molding and similar experience dealing in plastic polymers, preferred
• High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work efficiently in a team environment
