How will you make an impact in this role?
The Director will play a critical role in driving key aspects of the Investor Relations function for AXP. The Director should be a proactive and dynamic individual who can communicate effectively with business and finance partners, lead key financial and business processes, deliver superior analytics, and manage complex tasks in a global organization. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the external investment community and senior management while supporting the Investor Relations team’s efforts to provide the financial community with insight into the Company’s strategies, objectives, and performance. Key responsibilities include:
- Support the team’s efforts to provide a comprehensive investor relations program by creating prep materials for senior management and participating in meetings with the investment community, including quarterly earnings presentations, investor day, sell-side conferences, road shows, and meetings with institutional investors
- Drive quarterly earnings processes and analyses including creation of public-facing materials, tracking of sell-side analyst perspectives, consensus updates, and ad-hoc analyses
- Support development of IR narrative by keeping a pulse on new business developments, gathering data and insights from teams around the enterprise, and owning validation and backup for new disclosures
- Create update communications for senior executives summarizing key themes from investor meetings, competitor performance and analyst perspectives on AXP and the industry
- Develop an external perspective by reviewing analyst research, understanding stock market trends, and staying apprised of the competitive environment
- Oversee relationships with third-party vendors including IR website and stock surveillance providers
- Own critical compliance requirements related to IR Operational Risk Controls
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the company, including Corporate Planning team, BU Strategy and LFO teams, General Counsel’s Office, External Reporting, and Corporate Communications
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or a related field required. Minimum of 5+ years of relevant working experience required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and assimilate large quantities of information
- Excellent executive presence and communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong relationship and influencing skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners across the organization
