Veterinary Assistant

VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hybrid General Practice and Urgent Care/ER team.

Compensation: $20 - $25 / hr

Location: 13830 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233

Hours: Sunday-Saturday 7am-7pm

Schedule: FT including a weekend day

As a member of the VCA Southeast Portland team, you will support the Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. • Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Laboratory work

• Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients
• Client Education
• Supporting DVM team in appointments
• Performing triage assessments and prioritizing cases
• Managing patient documentation and treatment plans
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Collaborating effectively with doctors, fellow technicians, and support staff
• Supporting students, interns, and new team members
• Performing other duties as assigned to support hospital operations
