The Role:
The Information Security Intern is responsible for assisting in ensuring information systems compliance, data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. In collaboration with other information security staff and technical teams, this position monitors information security measures and controls across the entire organization. Additionally, the role focuses on preparing customer and vendor information security questionnaires, supporting IT internal controls reviews and testing, and providing administrative support for various IT compliance and information security-related requirements.
What You Will Do:
- Monitor, analyze, and advise on security alerts from various sources.
- Document security alert runbooks and responses.
- Work with different teams to guide them using security methodologies and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and updating of security policies and procedures.
- Assist in the updating and documentation of information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Identify information security-related problems by recognizing abnormalities and reporting them to appropriate stakeholders.
- Assist in compliance-related activities associated with relevant organizational compliance requirements.
- Help stakeholders identify and evaluate security and compliance risks.
- Support daily IT compliance team operations and provide general administrative support.
- Help conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal policies, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
What You Bring:
- Pursuing a degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
- Knowledge of common security concepts and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and SIEM systems.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient in time management; able to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
