Software Engineer - Camera System

The Role:

Data collection is integral to the Dronut's capabilities. Clean, crisp, high resolution images as well as point clouds provide an incredible amount of valuable data. You will be driving this effort by improving the existing video streaming and data collection capabilities to ensure high quality data collection.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement the embedded software that runs on the drone
• Optimize video quality, latency, and reliability
• Develop and optimize video streaming and recording software

Requirements

• Ability to write modern Java, C, C++
• Knowledge of debugging systems at ARM assembly code level
• Familiarity with Android camera HAL3, Linux V4L2, AVC, and HEVC
• Familiarity with video streaming protocols such as RTSP, RTMP, DASH, HLS
• Background in networking, video, and real-time communication
• Comfortable navigating and delivering within a complex codebase

Bonus Points for:

• Experience working with LiDAR data and point cloud files
• Experience with image stabilization algorithms
