JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Hazleton Residence Life Office is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team. The Residence Life Office is committed to the development of a safe and inclusive living-learning community that fosters academic, social, cultural, and personal growth. We strive to enable residents to develop respect and responsibility for themselves and their community.

The Hazleton campus seeks a part-time Administrative Support Assistant to perform general office work for the office supporting Student Services and Residence Life.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to student and parent inquiries for information

  • Maintaining student-conduct files

  • Data entry, answering telephones, taking messages, and scheduling appointments

  • Processing and maintaining general student information and records

Experience with a financial or business information mainframe (SIMBA) and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred. Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and to work in a team-oriented environment. Up to 24 hours a week, 10 months of the year with the months of June and July off. There is the possibility of working during fall, winter and spring student breaks. Review of resumes and cover letters will begin immediately.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
