We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team on a Fixed Term contract to 31 July 2026. Reporting to the Infrastructure Automation Team Lead, you will maintain infrastructure management and automation solutions to meet high standards of performance, stability, reliability, and security.

Role and responsibilities
Automate infrastructure configuration management primarily with Puppet Enterprise, ensuring solutions and processes comply with relevant IT policies and standards
Ensure Platform Engineering development standards are maintained using BDD for unit and integration testing.
Maintain a working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure platforms, tools, and software packages used
Work collaboratively with stakeholders to refine business and IT requirements
Promote the implementation and adoption of the automation technologies
Champion the development, design, and delivery of software defined infrastructure initiatives to improve IT Infrastructure operational efficiency, security, and stability
Maintain technical documentation and associated knowledge sources
Skills & Expertise required
Must have experience in technical IT infrastructure engineering, preferably within Banking and Government
Must have experience in developing, managing, and supporting Infrastructure as Code solutions and release pipelines using tools such as vRealize Automation, Terraform, and Packer
Must have hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, and Chef
Experience working with API's
Experience with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams
Working knowledge of CI/CD patterns using tools such as Git, Gitlab, Jira
Working knowledge of Operating Systems configuration, including Windows and Linux (RHEL)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
About you
You have at least 4 years hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, DevOps, or infrastructure automation operations
You enjoy working in an Agile Scrumban team
You look to complete tasks the right way, not necessarily the fastest or easiest way
You are enthusiastic about change, and want to help make things better
You embrace being a team player and meeting KPI, SLA, and team goals
You are experienced in developing within an enterprise SDLC framework
You are innovative, creative, and enthusiastic about your subject matter
You have great written and verbal communication skills
About the team
At the RBA, Platform Engineering is key to automating the way in which we deploy, manage, govern, and destroy our systems as they move through their lifecycle. The Platform Engineering team maintains IT solutions spanning CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, technology maintenance and automation services. The Infrastructure Automation team is part of the Platform Engineering team, and has a focus on infrastructure automation tools, processes, and configuration management capabilities
