Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Quality Engineer (level 3) to join our Quality Assurance team in Helena, Montana.
The selected candidate will work with Boeing Quality Engineering team to support APQP verification, acceptance activity, Metal Fabrication and Assembly, and Composite Fabrication and Assembly. This position reports to a First-line manager. This position offers exciting opportunity for an individual to apply leadership, creativity, and to grow in a dynamic Quality Engineering organization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
- Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Develops and implements corrective actions.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under minimal direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Helena, Montana.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
- 3+ years of system engineering experience in the areas of system performance analysis, RIO identification, risk mitigation, scope impact assessments, integration and testing.
- 3+ years of experience in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations
- 3+ years of experience in conducting a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) associated with a complex technical issue.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in working with Suppliers
- 3+ years of experience developing, documenting, maintaining, and improving processes.
- 3+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment.
- 3+ years of experience in inspection and inspection techniques.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
