A Brief Overview

Direct and lead various investment projects key to the strategic plan by influencing collaboration across teams. Provide project support across Investments assisting dedicated teams in improving processes and results by developing resources and process enhancements across complex business initiatives. The role will promote collaboration across investments as well as with our business partners throughout the organization while fostering a culture and environment to achieve excellence and innovation.

What you will do

  • Have robust knowledge of all functions within Investments while building strategic partnerships to provide valuable insights, guidance, encourage collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, and provide recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Lead strategic initiatives through project management that address critical Investment needs, working across a variety of diverse teams/functions.
  • Direct the automation team to create and implement effective solutions across the department
  • Drive prioritization and influence collaboration with groups across the organization, including change management coordination
  • Drive a strong project governance framework specific to the investment infrastructure throughout the investment department to help ensure appropriate roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities 
  • Create standardization of processes across the department, as appropriate, utilizing best practices within the investments industry 
  • Direct the creation of new processes, prototypes, and test innovative solutions while utilizing broad investment knowledge to ensure efficient end-to-end implementation
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Investments’ front, middle, and back office as well as with RGA corporate partners (ie, IT, Accounting, Structured Finance, etc) to ensure clear communication of Investment related issues
  • Lead the development of pooled resources that will assist with Investment initiatives
  • Have  advanced knowledge of existing investment-related systems and software (ie Tableau/Alteryx, Snowflake, Python, Investment Data Warehouse, BRS Aladdin, Bloomberg, etc)
  • Lead the Investments intern program
  • Assist in special projects, committees, and meetings as required
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field, AND
  • 10+ years of relevant investment related work experience

OR

  • Master’s, MBA, ASA, or FSA AND
  • 5+ years of relevant investment related work experience

Preferred: 

  • CFA designation OR demonstrable understanding of fixed income investing
  • Experience in insurance asset management
  • Project Management Experience /PMP Certification

  • Highly advanced knowledge of portfolio and fixed income analytics
  • Advanced technological skills (i.e, Microsoft, Alteryx, Bloomberg, and Blackrock Solutions)
  • Highly advanced  ability to initiate, think outside the box, execute, and bring ideas to fruition
  • Expert ability to work well individually with little supervision as well as within a team
