About the role
Description
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct, and oversee fundraising and development, programming, and all management and administrative functions for the Foundation.
- Embrace and promote the Foundation mission and vision.
- Lead implementation of the Strategic Plan with board of directors, committees, and staff.
- Supervise the program director.
- Manage the administrative activities of the Consulting Constructors Council (CCC) to include maintaining an active roster, lead membership recruitment, Annual Meeting planning, and dues collection.
- Work with outside vendor and Foundation staff and CFO to produce Annual Report
- Work with newly formed Bowen Prize Committee to identify and award the inaugural Bowen Prize for Great Builders during the AGC Convention
Duties:
Fundraising and Development
- Develop strategies, priorities, and activities in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Development Committee
- Monitor strategic plan status and progress and report out to Board of Directors.
- Implement a fundraising plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Serve as the frontline fundraiser to successfully identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts in order to exceed annual revenue goals.
- Write fundraising materials such as proposals, appeals, invitations, brochures, and thank you letters.
- Arrange, carry out, and follow up on donor visits in coordination with individual board members who have the relationship with the donor.
- Collaborate with AGC Business Development and Meetings Teams to, execute, and follow up on small and large donor cultivation acquisition events, such as the Annual Gala sponsored by the Consulting Constructors Council (CCC), the annual Foundation Golf Scramble and the annual Donor Reception hosted during the AGC Convention.
- Select and award the newly formed Philanthropic Leadership Award to recognize an impactful Foundation donor to be presented during the AGC Convention
- Supervise the program director on the management and promotion of the Foundation’s scholarship, awards, and research programs. ��
- Ensure a strong Foundation presence at the annual AGC convention through presentations, social media, events, and promotional materials.
- Participate in the implementation of the new Association Management System (AMS) to ensure it is well-designed and effectively managed.
- Collaborate with internal AGC Communications and/or outside vendor to produce annual scholarship video featuring student recipients and donors for marketing purposes and for use during CCC Gala
Board of Director Relations
- Plan and prepare for all Board meetings (1 remote (January), 2 in person (March & September)), committee, and task force meetings. Collaborate with Foundation staff, AGC Finance team and AGC Meetings team to host in-person meetings to include but not limited to materials, location, space, food, logistics, and Minutes.
Finance
- Work collaboratively with AGC CFO to develop annual budget and monitor income and expenditures in collaboration with the Foundation’s Treasurer.
- Maintain daily records and data in database and provide reports to Finance team in preparation for the annual audit.
- Issue invoices to CCC members for unpaid annual dues and gifts to the Foundation.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 8-10 years of experience with fundraising & development.
- Proven track record of raising funds at the level the Foundation requires.
- A deep understanding of and passion for the Foundation’s mission and vision.
- Ability and willingness to use analytical tools to make tactical and strategic decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
- Experience managing staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with cooperative spirit and willingness to juggle multiple projects at one time.
