The Minnesota State System Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI) is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student for the position of Equity & Inclusion Support Paraprofessional. The paraprofessional will actively engage with Equity & Inclusion professional staff to provide assistance to several strategic projects for OEI compliance team. The position will offer the student the opportunity to build skills, knowledge, and abilities, hands on experience working with complex policies and projects while working in an impactful, diverse, and inclusive professional environment. The student will also work with the OEI team to identify opportunities to contribute to OEI’s ongoing programming and explore interests they may have within the area of compliance, equity, diversity, inclusion, access and opportunity, and social justice. While this position is mostly remote/hybrid, and does not require regular travel, the paraprofessional will have the option on occasion to support the team during in-person events in the greater Twin Cities metro area or at a Minnesota State college or university. If a paraprofessional travels for work, they will receive reimbursement for mileage.
Minimum Qualifications
An undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at a college or university within Minnesota State.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with computer software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated effectiveness in writing skillfully, speaking notably, and listening attentively
Knowledge of or experience in Title IX, Affirmative Action, other areas of compliance, equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice initiatives
Previous experience with or ability to learn graphic design and/or content creation
Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality
