Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Engineer for employment within our DCS - Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Orange, CA or Houston, TX office to support remediation system operations, soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects.  The ideal candidate will have prior field experience in remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring and environmental field data collection including soil, groundwater and vapor sample collection. In addition, the candidate will have some experience in data management and basic technical report production.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting environmental field work, including remediation systems operations, maintenance, and monitoring, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.
  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
  • Modeling and analysis of subsurface conditions and remediation performance.
  • Interfacing and writing reports to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Combination of office and field work to support projects.
  • Travel to project locations including driving and sometimes overnight stays.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of field experience in environmental consulting
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training Supervisory
  • Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to Health and Safety

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $63,000.00 - 110,000.00.

Relocation assistance and/or per diem may be offered for this position.
