Applied Materials’ Advanced Product & Technology Development team is searching for an Engineering Technician Intern to join our team on a part-time basis during the academic year and full-time in Summer 2024. The Engineering Technician Intern performs routine electro-mechanical technical functions and activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.
Responsibilities
Test and troubleshoot system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems
Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform routine testing and troubleshooting
Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation utilizing good writing skills
Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum and process testing on Applied platforms to Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and specifications
Observes all safety standards; maintain a safe and clean work environment; attend required safety training and follow all security policies, procedures, and practices
Promptly report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to supervisor or Safety team
Follow operating instructions, use protective equipment when required, handle equipment and materials properly
Actively strive to prevent accidents and injuries
Requirements
Interest in exploring careers in the semiconductor industry
Pursuing an associate degree in technology
Effective written and verbal communicator
Flexible and adaptable mindset
Compensation

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
