Job Summary:
Performs preventive maintenance and technical repairs for building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and life safety systems. Ensures compliance with safety standards, maintains documentation, and provides 24/7 on-call support, including weekends and holidays.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain hospital, lab, and office spaces according to safety codes.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and repair issues with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
- Install new building fixtures and finishes for renovations.
- Maintain refrigeration systems and medical gas systems.
- Operate utility equipment like generators, chillers, and boilers.
- Use building automation systems to monitor and troubleshoot conditions.
- Test and repair fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire doors.
- Read blueprints and manuals to complete assignments.
- Communicate effectively with staff to address service needs.
- Procure and manage maintenance supplies and parts.
- Complete required training on safety and engineering procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to temperature extremes, noise, dirt, and dust.
- Work on elevated surfaces like ladders and roofs.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment.
- Availability for 24/7 on-call shifts at any location.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Lifting up to 100 lbs as needed.
